SPAWAR Systems Center Charleston wishes to procure network operation & maintenance support of Puerto Rico area wideband systems (PRAWS). The services required will be for operation and maintenance of the PRAWS secure digital transmission network consisting of microwave radios, multiplexers and supporting plant. The contractor shall operate and maintain all terminal equipment and ancillary equipment in the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) Service Delivery Points (SDPs) at 35 sites on the island of Puerto Rico, and elsewhere in the Caribbean area. This will include operation and maintenance of new equipment and facilities associated as well as expansion and/or upgrades of the PRAWS as required by the Government. The resulting contract will be a fixed priced, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite quantity type contract for one base year and four option years. The minimum guarantee is for a period of performance from 01July00 through 30Sep00. This will be a sole source procurement to GLS Associates, Inc. who is currently providing this service and has years of experience in support of the PRAWS network, as well as the necessary security clearances and telecommunications & facility leases, permits and agreements.
