The contractor shall provide labor, materials, supplies and equipment necessary to plant trees for reforestation of four (4) acres of forest land for the Directorate of Public Works at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The project involves planting new trees covering 4 acres, which will replace 4 acres of forest land which will be lost due to the construction of an access road. This habitat replacement is required by Wildlife Permit No 98-12, issued by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. The newly forested area shall have a mix of tree species similar to the adjacent mature forest complex, predominantly oak and hickory. Bare root or potted stock may be used. On a 10 foot X 10 foot grid, the total number of trees will the 1,854. Planting shall be done o/a 1 March through 30 June 2000. Work shall be completed within 90 calendar days after notice to proceed. Government owned electric power, gas, and water systems and supplies are adequate for the needs and use of the contractor. This is a firm fixed price contract. This acquisition is set aside for small businesses. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 0831. The size standard for a small business concern, including its affiliates, is average sales or receipts for the preceding three (3) fiscal years, not to exceed $5 million.
