Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute intends to negotiate on a sole source
basis with HEPCO, 301 RTE 17 North 7th FL, Rutherford, NJ. 07070, to
continue to provide a Vascular MRI Technologist for the period 2/7/00
through 8/4/00. The NIH Cardiac MRI Lab, is currently conducting
protocols which involves highly specialized technique that will allow
for the analysis of left-ventricular wall thickness, enjection fraction
and flow velocities. The technologist will be scanning 650 patients
undergoing cardiac MRI for the required NIH protocols. The technologist
will scan, process data for image manipulation, and analyzations, as
well work with all ages of patients, including children. After
obtaining the CVMRI Images, the technologist will film onto laser film
the necessary images for chest screening (interpreted by the
department of diagnostic radiology); make and prepare cine images for
the principle investigators. The technologist will also work with the
principle investigators optimizing the scanning and processing
protocols as needed. Daily activities will also include archival of
patient data and keeping detailed records of the studies and protocols
performed. It is estimated that the technologist will scan
approximately (25) twenty five patients per week. This acquisition is
being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. The Standard
Industrial Classification (SIC) Code 8099, Size Standard is $5.0M. The

a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify

determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract
