PRE-SOLICITATION Plans and Specifications for solicitation N68711-00-B-8710 will be issued on or about 08 FEBRUARY 2000 over the Internet at http://esoladmin.navfac.navy.mil as an Electronic Bid Solicitation (EBS). The response time required by FAR 5.203 would begin on the date of issuance of the EBS solicitation. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This is a Firm Fixed-Price Contract. REPAIRS TO HANGAR 2, BLDG. 20000. The work includes furnishing all labor, supervision, materials and equipment necessary to install the following: new natural gas service to the hangar, radiant heaters in the hangar bay and lightning protection to the building. The contractor will also replace the following: HVAC equipment, bathroom fixtures on first and second floors, and power transformer. The project also includes repainting and relamping office areas; regrouting hangar bay floor and removing existing air compression system and other incidental related work. SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONDITIONS: Contractor will be working with asbestos and lead paint. Work is at the airfield security clearance is required. Foreign Object Damage (FOD) restrictions and appliance applies. Performance time is 120 calendar days. The tentative issue date is on or about 08 FEBRUARY 2000 with the bid opening date approximately 30 days later. The SIC code is 1542. The related small business standard is 17.0 million.
