The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHCS) Contracting Office (90C) anticipates a sole source award of a firm fixed price contract to McKesson HBOC Automated Healthcare (MAH). The contract award shall be for a base period from date of award through 9/30/2000 and shall include 4 12-month options to extend the term of the contract. The contract shall provide for on-site activities associated with packaging of medications for the MAH ROBOT-Rx, an automated medication dispensing distribution system owned by CTVHCS and operated at the CTVHCS Temple, Texas, facility. Basic services shall consist of accomplishment of over-wrap and bulk packaging services by contractor-furnished personnel who are qualified and trained in these services, plus monitoring and management of off-line inventory levels for picking by the ROBOT-Rx, corrdination of the maintenance program of the ROBOT-Rx packaging equipment, and other associated contract duties. Following the guidelines outlined in FAR Parts 12 and 15, it is anticipated that the solicitation shall be issued as a request for proposals (RFP) for acquisition of a commercial item. The applicable SIC code is 8744, and procurement shall be non-restrictive. The anticipated issue date of the RFP is o/a 1/26/00, and the proposal due date is 2/9/00.
