The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) is soliciting for closing agent services for the sale of single family properties located within the Knoxville (TN) Area Office comprised of two areas. Area one covers the Chattanooga area and the following ten counties: Grundy, Marion, Sequatchie, Hamilton, Bradley, Polk, McMinn, Meigs, Rhea and Bledsoe. Area two covers the Knoxville area and the following 27 counties: Monroe, Roane, Morgan, Loudon, Cumberland, Fentress, Pickett, Scott, Campbell, Anderson, Union, Knox, Blount, Sevier, Jefferson, Cocke, Hamblen, Grainger, Clairborne, Hancock, Hawkins, Greene, Unicoi, Washington, Sullivan, Carter and Johnson. Preference is to award the contract to one contractor for both areas; however, award will be made to two contractors if necessary -- one for each area. Sales must be closed within a stipulated time frame and prompt and accurate payment of all closing charges made. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Tennessee. The contractwill be for a one-year base period, with four one-year options. Proposals will be rated on technical merit. Contract start-up is expected to be April 1, 2000. This is a 100% small business set-aside.
