Television Audio Support Activity (TASA) is hosting a Joint Combat
Camera / Digital Camera conference, 14-17 Feb 2000, in Sacramento, CA.
Representatives from the Department of Defense (DoD) Visual
Information and Combat Camera units will survey still and motion
digital cameras for potential future requirements. T-ASA is interested
in Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to demonstrate and discuss
still and motion digital cameras that meet or exceed the following
minimum specifications: Still Camera Systems; Resolution-3300 x 2550 @
300 dpi; Viewfinder-1:1 image area/viewing ratio; Perspective-1:1 lens
perspective ex. 50mm = 50mm; LCD monitor-Review and delete imagery; ISO
range-100 -- 3200; Storage Capacity-200 images / or 20 GB; Battery
Life-400 shots (non-memory building); AC Adapter-Unlimited Exposures;
Color Bit Depth- 36 bit color; Burst Rate-5 frame/per second; Ports
IEEE / USB / output to Cd's, printers, etc); Size-7.6" tall / 6.2" wide
/ 3.4" deep; Weight-5 pounds; PCMCIA card capable; flash mounts
on-camera and external capable; Ruggedness-sturdy, resilient to
moisture, dust, etc.; Other desired traits-electronic emission covers
to shield against RF signals, water protected cases for watertight
protection up to 30 feet, NVG tubes for digital camera systems. Motion
Camera Systems: Resolution-700 x 450 TV lines, 1038h x 504v; Dual
Aspect Ratio-Compatible with 16x9 DTV format; Back Focus-Manual and
Auto Controls; White Balance-Manual and Auto Controls; Shutter and
Aperture-Manual and Auto Controls; Audio, Gain, & Focus-Manual and Auto
Controls; Viewfinder-Color & Monochrome Selector; Battery-4 hours of
continuous recording time; Light Sensitivity-0.5 -- 1.0 lux; Operating
Temperatures-0 -- 120 degrees Fahrenheit; Ports-IEEE/ BNC/ RCA audio

Ruggedness-sturdy, resilient to moisture, dust, etc. Demonstrations
should consist of verbal/written product information, live equipment
operation/demonstration, and hands-on operation/inspection by the DoD
representatives. OEMs must furnish all equipment and consumables
required for their demonstration and sign a hold-harmless liability
agreement. Due to time/space limitations, only OEMs are required to
respond to this announcement. OEMs may elect to send a single

demonstrating. The government will provide a demonstration room at the

associated support requirements and to book hotel rooms. All others
interested should contact OEMs. This is not an RFP or IFB. The
Government does not intend to pay for information sought or for OEMs'
