This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are hereby being requested and a written solicitation will NOT be issued. The solicitation number is N66001-00-Q-0024. The solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ). The incorporated FAR and DoD FAR Supplement (DFARS) provisions and clauses in this RFQ are those versions in effect on the date of issuance of this RFQ, FAC 97-15. Pursuant to the authority of FAR 13.5, this acquisition will be conducted using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This procurement is restricted to small business, see Note 1. The associated SIC code is 3663 (750 Employees). The award resultant from this RFQ will be a Firm Fixed-Price contract. CLIN 0001 Solid State Broadband High Power Amplifier, 4 each. 1.0 BACKGROUND. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego (SSC-SD) will procure the items above to support Digital Wideband Transmission System (DWTS). DWTS is a Line-of-sight communications system for navy ships. 2.0 SCOPE. The scope of work is to provide four each of the specified item. 3.0 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS. Solid State Broadband High Power RF Amplifier. SPECIFICATIONS: Operating frequency range:1.35-1.85 Ghz; Linear, small signal gain:16-22 dB; Power Output: minimum 125 W at 1dB compression point; Terminating impedances: 50 ohms; Output protection: Output Isolator (terminated); Noise figure: maximum 15 dB; Front panel mounted LCD digital display forward/reflected power metering; N-type female RF input/output connectors mounted on rear of unit; Front panel mounted gain adjustment: Continuous or in 1 dB steps; Automatic level control, on/off switchible; Standby mode. Delivery of one amplifier will be required by 15 February, 2000. The remainder will required by 7 March 2000.
