F -- BRUSH MOWING ON THE DESCHUTES NATIONAL FOREST, THREE DISTRICTS SOL RFP-R6-7-00-03 DUE 030600 POC Orrin Corak, 541/416-6532 or Cecilia Rogers, 541/416-6534 This project consists of a proposal for a Requirements Contract for Brush Mowing on the Deschutes National Forest. Districts are Crescent RD., Sisters RD., and the Bend/Ft Rock District. This project is being issued and administered by the Ochoco National Forest. Estimated start work date is April 3, 2000. The Requirements contract will be a $0 award and task orders to the maximum could be issued up to $330,000.00. The Government intends to make award from one to three contractors. Project time is April 2000 through November 2002. Depending on location, vegetation and terrain, minimum production rates will range from 10 to 25 acres per day. Contractor equipment requirements are, size of tractor shall be a minimum of 45 HP to a maximum of 115 HP. Weight of equipment shall be a minimum of 5,000 lbs. to a maximum 10,000 lbs. Equipment shall be equipped with wide tires 45 HP minimum of 9.5" front, 14.0" rear width to a 115 HP minimum of 10.5" front, 18.5" rear width. Tires must not develop more than 6 lbs per square inch of ground pressure. Tires will not be allowed if filled with calcium, as they add too much weight to the tractor. Shrubs shall be chopped, chewed, mulched, or otherwise reduced with a mowing implement mounted on a machine to allow a 2 to 12 inch working height, depending on location and individual unit prescription.
