The Air Force is seeking potential sources and performing market research for the following requirement: To perform and document _Type Accreditation" for the Companion UHF Tactical Satellite System using guidance set forth in DoD 5200.40, Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process, 1 Nov 99. The DITSCAP components are composed of phases, activities, and tasks. There are four phases: Definition, Verification, Validation, and Post Accreditation. Each phase is composed of activities that are in turn composed of tasks. Each certification and analysis task is composed of one or more steps as determined by the complexity of certification analysis required. DoD 5200.40 (DITSCAP) table 8-1 shows the relationship of the phases, activities, and tasks with associated responsibilities. All information systems must be accredited prior to operational use and will be reaccredited at least every three years. System Name and Identification: Companion Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Tactical Satellite (TACSAT). CUTS is a UHF Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) satellite network comprised of UHF Manpack SATCOM terminals and associated automated data processing equipment (ADPE).
