tetterg@ioc.army.mil. Issue Date: On or about 15 Feb 00, RFP closing
date on or about 15 Feb 00. Item: PA125 Metal Ammunition Container for
25mm ammunition. NSN: 8140-01-347-8121. This proposed contract will be
structured as a Firm-Fixed Priced, Four (4) Year Requirements Contract
for a "combination" of both new PA125 containers and a cetrain number
of refurbished, field returned PA125 containers. The contractor will
have to provide all internal container componets with each container
(new or refurbished) as follows: rubber gasket (NSN: 8140-01-363-6685),
filler pads (NSN: 8140-01-363-6686), plastic restraining plate (NSN:
8140-01-361-7806), plastic separator assembly (NSN: 8140-01-361-7807).
A first article test will be required. The solicitation will be issued
on a Full & Open Competitive Basis utilizing a Best Value evaluation on
past performance and price. This contract will become Government
Furnished Material (GFM) and supplied to our 25mm producers. The RFP
will also require the contractor to "Collect & Store" field return
PA125 containers from approximately 20 locations accros the U.S. Bid
points will probably be set as a "minimum & maximum quantity" for new
PA125's and "minimum & maximum quantity" for refurbished PA125's per
year. Rough estimates at this time based on probable maximum quantity
are: Year 1 = Total of 55,000; Year 2 = 105,000; Year 3 = Total of
105,000; and Year 4 = 105,000 containers. The percentage of "Refurbed
to New Production PA125's" is approximately: Year 1 = 40%/60%, Year 2
= 30%/70%; Year 3 = 50%/50% and Year 4 = 60% to 40%. (Note these are
just approximate estimates and subject to change as data becomes
