The contractor shall submit an inclusive bid for all specified work and a line item bid for the work described in line items 1-5. 01 Plant 10 acres in forest unit #1 with improved 2nd generation loblolly pine, 1-0 seedlings. Seedlings are to be planted on 10 x 10 foot spacing. Work to be completed by 15 Mar 2000. $_________ 02 Plant 10 acres in forest unit #3 with _drought-hardy_improved loblolly pine, 1-0 seedlings. Seedlings are to be planted on 10 x 10 foot spacing. Prior to planting the contractor shall fertilize the 10 acre planting site with 13-1-3-13 fertilizer at the rate of 500 lbs/ac and then disk the planting area, such that the soil is fully cultivated and broken to a depth of 12 inches. The contractor shall drum chop the planting site in preparation for planting. The contractor shall meet with BAFB Forester in Sept 2000 to review this planting project. Work to be completed by 1 Mar 2001. $_____________ 05 In forest unit #59 plant 83 acres with improved, 2nd generation, loblolly pine 1-0 seedlings; 6 acres with cherrybark oak 1-0 seedlings and 2 acres with 1-0 baldcypress, 1-0 Nuttall oak, and 1-0 Green Ash Seedlings. All seedlings to be planted on a 10 x 10 foot spacing. Prior to planting the pine, the contractor shall drum chop and rake on-site vegetation with standard forestry industry site preparation equipment and effectively remove competition to prepare 83 acre area for planting. Raked debris shall be piled in windrows on the contour. Soil conditions permitting, this work is to be completed by 15 Mar 2000. If soil conditions are unfavorable, the site preparation work is to be completed by 1 May 2000 and the reforestation work during next planting season and prior to 1 Mar 2001. $___________ See attached for additional specifications.
