Disadvantaged Businesses, Historically Black Colleges and Universities
and Minority Institutions to a Course on "Winning NASA Contracts" NASA
has designed a course focusing on areas of business management that are
critical for success in competing for NASA contracts and subcontracts.
The NASA course is known as Training and Development of Small
Businesses in Advanced Technologies (TADSBAT). The Internet Home Page

NASA's Fiscal Year 1990 Appropriations Bill, Public Law 101-144 and its
amended version Public Law 101-507, included a requirement that the
Agency annually award at least eight percent of the total value of its
contracts and subcontracts to Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDBs).
In the legislation, the SDB definition was expanded to include small
women-owned businesses,Historically Black Colleges and Universities and
Minority Institutions (e.g., Tribal College and Hispanic Serving
Institutions). The TADSBAT course was created to enhance the business
management capabilities of these firms and institutions so that they
could successfully compete for and win NASA business. Since 1994, NASA
has provided this training to over 200 businesses with overwhelming
success. The course is offered FREE (no registration fee). ELIGIBILITY
REQUIREMENTS: Participation in the 1999 training has been expanded to
include all small businesses, along with Small Disadvantaged
Businesses (including women-owned), Historically Black College and
Universities and Minority Institutions that possess technical
capabilities related to NASA's mission and the four strategic
