CONTRACT TYPE: FIRM-FIXED PRICE This is a presolicitation notice for
commercial services prepared in accordance with Federal Acquistion
Regulation (FAR) Part 12 as supplemented with additional information
contained herein. A written solicitation shall be issued. This
procurement is set-aside for small businesses and the SIC Code is 1752,
Floor Laying and Other Floor Work, N.E.C., and the small business size
standard is $7.0. Bids/Requests for Quotes are due on February 04,
2000, at 4:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time (Local Time). ITEM 0001 -- A
prospective contractor shall be required to remove present tile and
procure and install approximately 2,830 Square Feet of Innovative
Ceramics, Inc. or Equal Nova Stain Proof Unglazed (with Permanent
Shine) Porcelain Ceramic Tile with SRI Surface, Color No. 430 (Peach
Blush) to include ACCENTED Color No. 431 (Cinnamon and Twilight) as
stipulated in the specifications and in accordance with the drawings.
Contractor shall also provide 270 Linear Feet of Bullnose Base where
existing covebase is remove. Epoxy grout shall be used to fill in
between floor tiles. The Contractor shall be completely responsible for
Demolition, Preparation, labor and materials for replacement of
existing vinyl composite floor tile located in Room 112, Building 24,
at the Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical
Center. 10000 Brecksville Road, Brecksville, Ohio 44141 pursuant to the
specifications and clauses contained therein the solicitation and
resultant contract. Site Visit: Prospective Contractors are encouraged
to visit the site of construction by contacting the Contracting
Officer at the aforementioned number. Site Visits shall be conducted by
appointment ONLY. COMPLETION DATE: The Prospective Contractor shall be
required to coordinate all work with the current Contractor of the
"Canteen Renovation Project", which will be provided at time contract
award. Contractor shall be prepared to install not later than February
25, 2000 or other agreed to date with General Contractor, however, all
all work shall be completed by March 10, 2000. ***SUBMISSION OF BID
SAMPLES AND LITERATURE AT THE DESIGNATED DAY AND TIME OF QUOTE
SUBMISSION*** "Bid samples" are item sample submissions required of
bidders to show those characteristics of the offered product(s) that
cannot adequately be described by specifications or purchase
descriptions. "Bid Samples" AND Descriptive Literature shall be
furnished as part of the bid package and shall be received on the date
and time specificied for bids. Failure to submit bid samples and
literature may be cause for rejection of your bid as NONRESPONSIVE by
