Postal Service is soliciting proposals to modernize the existing freight elevator at the U. S. Post Office at 135 Grand St., Waterbury, CT. Work includes, but is not limited to, the replacement of hoist motors, controllers, power control, and car & hoistway operators; replacement of worn parts; full maintenance; and other related work. The estimated cost of the work is between $75,000.00 and $150,000.00, with completion within ninety (90) calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. Sealed offers will be received in this office prior to, but no later than, 4:00 p.m. on February 22, 2000. Offers will not be publicly opened. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any offer, or relative standing of the offerors WILL NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANYONE until award of contract is made. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available o/a January 24, 2000 at a cost of $15.00 per set (non-refundable) from the Facilities Service Office, U. S. The successful offeror will be required to submit a 100% performance bond and 50% payment bond before award of contract is made.
