E-MAIL: Jacklyn L. Norman, jacklyn.norman-1@ksc.nasa.gov. NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Data Link Multiplexer Equipment. NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from TC Communications, Inc., 7-150 Corporate Park Drive, Irvine, CA 92606. This equipment must be compatible with existing components in the Unified Control Modules currently utilized in the Unified Control System development. TC Communications is the only known source that can meet the minimum requirements of the Government for this procurement. This procurement is being conducted under the NASA Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), utilizing FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have until 12:00 noon, Eastern Time, on January 28, 2000, to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after 12:00 noon, Eastern Time, January 28, 2000, or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Facsimile responses to the identified point of contact are acceptable. All qualified responsible business sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
