The Corps of Engineers has a need for a construction contract for painting tainter gates and bulkheads at Lock 4, Monongahela River, Natrona, Pennsylvania. The work consists of cleaning, sandblasting, and painting three moveable-crest tainter gates, two non-overflow tainter gates and two emergency bulkhead units; thermal-spray metallizing of the upstream, bottom and interior surfaces of the gates with 85-15 zinc-aluminum. The interior of the moveable crest gates have lead-containing primer in some areas. Paint for the exterior of the gates will be furnished by the Government. Magnitude of the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000; The plans and specifications have been placed on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge.
