DESCRIPTION: Provide equipment including operator for work to be conducted under the direction of the Seattle District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to perform environmental restoration on the South Fork of the Skagit River between Freshwater and Steamboat Soughs (referred to as Deepwater Slough), South of Conway, Washington. The work will consist of building new levees, augmenting existing levees, and removing portions of existing levees. The location of work is on an island and the only mode of transportation to and from the island is via boat/barge. It is anticipated the work will include use of the following equipment with operator: (a) Track Mounted Hydraulic Excavator with Thumb -- 32 Foot Reach; (b) Dump Trucks, 3-4 axle, 10-12 cubic yards; (c) Dozers -- minimum 110 HP, 6-way Tilt Blade; (d) Single Drum Self Propelled 5-ton Vibrating Compactor; and (e) Barge for transporting to island. All work shall be completed in accordance with the plans and specificaitons package. This solicitation will be issued as an Electronic Bid Set (EBS) on CD-Rom format only. EBS CD-Rom disks with plans and specs will be available on or about 15 February 2000 at no charge per set. Documents will be issued on a first come, first served basis until supply is exhausted.
