The Volpe Center plans to procure through Simplified Acquisition procedures, a sole source acquisition from Bailey Research Associates, Inc., New York, NY to conduct a feasibility study of Cancer Risk along the Electrified vs. Non-electrified Portions of the Northeast Corridor (NEC) rail. The contractor will be required to pin mapping leukemia cases using corrected or updated addresses obtained by primary search of registry records, incorporate leukemia case data expected from states of Maryland for years 1992 1996 and Delaware, compare leukemia incidence near electrified and non-electrified portion of NEC, test spatial clustering near electrified portion of NEC based on expected magnetic field level at residence. Small Business firms classified under SIC Code 3812 that are interested i n proposing on this requirement must have the following: (1) Access to leukemia data from cancer registries of the six states along the NEC; (2) evidence/examples of past performance on related technical requirements and; (3) Management plan and staff qualification.
