F -- WILD HORSE AND BURRO GATHERING IN THE GREAT BASIN REGION SOL NAR000045 DUE 040200 POC Ms. Marty Coffey, (303) 236-9439 The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for the gather and removal of wild horses and burros from the public lands within the Great Basin Region (Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Oregon, and California, with the bulk of gathers occurring in Nevada). The BLM anticipates making multiple awards in which Delivery Orders will be issued as the need for a gather becomes necessary. The contract(s) will be firm fixed price, Indefinite Quantity, for one basic contract year, plus four (4) Option Years. Gathers may be performed by drive trapping, bait trapping, or helicopter drive trapping. Therefore, the contractor(s) shall provide all its own labor, equipment, materials, and materials (i.e., water trucks, helicopters, livestock transport trucks, panels, et al) necessary to perform a gather in one of the methodologies cited above. Gathers are expected to occur throughout the calendar year, except during foaling season. The contractor(s) must be knowledgeable in the handling of large animals, specifically, wild horses and burros. The Contractor(s) shall be reimbursed on a per head basis for the gather portion; per feed day for the holding/feeding animals; and per head for animal transport. This requirement is 100% set-aside for small businesses. The solicitation will be issued on or about February 29, 2000.
