The United States Air Force is requesting quotes for the furnishing of all construction, and supervisory services, including but not limited to all plant, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation necessary to remove and replace six (6) 6" Water Filter System Valves and four (4) 10" and two (2) 8" Main Chiller Isolation Valves at Building 2, Rooms 103 and 105, Cape Cod Air Station, Sagamore, MA. Cape Cod Air Station works under a redundancy system. There are two (2) operational systems, System #1 and System #2, with identical components. One system will remain operational at all times while work is being performed. Work to be performed includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following items. Water Filter System Valves (System #1 and System #2), room 103: remove six (6) 6" inch gate valves used in Water Filtration System #1 and #2 (see figures 1, 2, and 3); clean all mating flange surfaces to ensure proper fitting of the new valves; replace any bolts and nuts showing deterioration and/or rust; install new valves and gaskets, and test for leaks. Main Chiller Isolation Valves (System #1 and System #2), room 105: remove fiberglass insulation from around four 10" isolation gate valves (Figure 4) and if condition allows, insulation may be reused on new valves; remove four 10" isolation gate valves, designated as Tower Water Supply #1 and #2, and Tower Return #1 and #2 (Figure 4); remove two 8" isolation gate valves designated as Chilled Water Supply #1 and #2 (Figure 5 and 6); clean all mating flange surfaces to ensure proper fitting of the new valves;replace any bolts and nuts showing deterioration and/or rust; install new valves and gaskets and install insulation around valves and test for leaks. All civil, mechanical, and electrical services will be provided unless specifically stated otherwise in the Statement of Work. The result of the quotes will be a firm fixed price contract. There will be 90 calendar days from the receipt of the notice to proceed, including lead times and prep time to complete the work. The magnitude of construction for this project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. THE SITE VISIT WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY, 14 FEB 00, AT 10:00 P.M. YOU MUST FORWARD TO THIS OFFICE NO LATER THAN THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS, 09 FEB 00. THE FULL NAME AND SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER OF THOSE WHO WILL BE ATTENDING THE SITE VISIT. THOSE ATTENDING THE VISIT BE ADVISED A PICTURE ID WILL BE REQUIRED. IF NO PICTURE ID IS AVAILABLE, TWO (2) OTHER FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED. IF A CONTRACTOR SHOWS UP AND IS NOT ON THE LIST THEY WILL NOT BE BROUGHT ONTO THE SECURED INSTALLATION. ANY NAMES RECEIVED AFTER 09 FEB 00, WILL BE DISCARDED.
