ETV (ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY VERIFICATION) VENDOR MEETING FOR DECENTRALIZED WASTEWATER TECHNOLOGIES -- MEETING ANNOUCEMENT CBD Announcement of Technology Vendor Meeting for the ETV Source Water Protection Pilot. Meeting Date: March 7, 2000. Meeting Location: St. Louis Airport Hilton. Description of Pilot: NSF International (Ann Arbor, MI) is partnering with US EPA National Risk Management Research Laboratory (Edison, NJ) and the US EPA Office of Research and Development to accelerate the commercialization and recognition of improved environmental technologies used to protect ground and surface waters from contamination. The ETV verification process stresses third party testing using technically sound protocols and appropriate QA/QC, in addition to third party review of data and reporting of technology performance. ETV provides purchasers, permitters, and developers with objective, quality assured data on new technologies. The purpose of the Vendor Meeting is to bring together manufacturers of decentralized wastewater treatment technologies addressing one or more of the following three categories, commercial wastewater treatment, nutrient reduction, and package plants, to explain the Environmental Technology Verification Program and discuss the key elements of protocols under development in these technology areas. EPA and NSF will provide the meeting participants with details about the benefits and responsibilities of participation in the ETV Program. Input from the vendor community regarding the protocol contents and the verification process will be encouraged. Representatives from the Environmental Technology Evaluation Center (EvTEC), a service center of the Civil Engineering Research Foundation and one of the twelve ETV pilots, will also be present to join in the discussion of the joint EvTEC/NSF protocol for the verification of nutrient reduction technologies. For planning purposes, NSF needs to know the number of persons attending the meeting. A block of rooms is being held at the St. Louis Airport Hilton (10330 Natural Bridge Road, St. Louis, MO). To reserve your room at the group discount rate ($89.00 single or $99.00 double), please call the hotel at (314) 426-5500). This block of rooms will be held until February 21, 2000. Please inform the hotel reservationist that you will be attending the "ETV Vendor Meeting" and the number of days that you will be staying to ensure your group rate.
