2000 SCOPE OF WORK FOR MAINTENANCE AND TESTING OF MOUNT RUHMORE LIFE
SAFEY SYSTEM Contractor shall be responsible for maintenance and
testing of the fire alarm system at Mount Rushmore National Memorial
which includes the Museum, Administrative Building, Concession
Facilities, Information Center and Restroom Building. Also included in
the detection system are the propane sensor alarms located at the
Energy Center and the propane Tank Farm. Pricing for this maintenance
agreement shall include options for year two and for year three. TEST
AND ISPECTIONS SERVICES: The contractor shall perform as a minimum
1-100% annual operational system test and inspection and
functional/diagnostic tests of panel functions, auxiliary/monitoring
functions, and all accessible peripheral devices listed and currently
on-line with the facility Life Safety system. Assure proper operation
of the interface to the security system and confirm operation of the
kitchen hood shutdown of gas and electrical power. The contractor shall
schedule inspections so that all tasks are performed using properly
trained technicians and the special tools and instrumentation required
to analyze the system to maintain its proper performance. Tests shall
be scheduled in advance, and at the convenience of the National Park
Service. The National Park Service will provide access to all areas of
the facility in order to locate devices and ensure efficient
transition between areas. All accessible peripheral devices shall be
functionally tested according to NFPA 72. Smoke detectors shall be
functionally tested using a smoke generator, punk stick, or other
method acceptable to the manufacture. "Canned Smoke" will not be
allowed for this task, per manufacturer's recommendations. If
corrective actions are found necessary, repair charges shall be
submitted in advance for the National Park Service's approval.
DOCUMENTATION: All accessible components and devices shall be logged
for exact location, test results/applicable voltage reading and any
discrepancies noted, recommendations for correction, and any
corrections made on site. Documentation shall be provided to the NPS.
The contractor shall keep copies of this documentation on file for five
years. AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER: The contractor shall perform an annual
complete test of the sprinkler systems in the Administration Building,
the Visitor Center/Museum Building, the Public Restroom Building, the
Information Center Building and the Gift/Food Services Buildings.
These tests shall be performed per NFPA requirements. Cost Range: under
