(718) 553-3086 The Federal Aviation Administration has a requirement
for a Waste Reconfiguration Project at the New York Terminal Approach
Consolidated (TRACON) Facility, Westbury, New York. Project
#DTFA05-00-R-GM003 is assigned. This project is set aside for 8A Small
Disadvantaged Business firms. The cost of this construction project is
estimated to be between $200,000.00 and $300,000.00. The contract
performance time is one hundred fifty (150) calendar days. Start of
construction to commence the Spring of 2000. The purpose of this
Screening Information Request (SIR) is to obtain information which will
allow the FAA to identify qualified 8A contractors. Screening decision
will be based on the evaluation criteria established in this SIR. Upon
completion of the pre-qualification process, qualified offerors will
receive contract documents for bidding purposes. Subsequent to the
receipt of and review of offers, a contract award will be made to
conclude the acquisition process. 8A Firms must demonstrate their
qualifications with respect to the published evaluation factors. 8A
Firms must provide the following: (1) Documentation, with references
showing that they have successfully completed at least five (5)
municipal sewer connections, cesspool abandonment projects, and above
ground storage tank installation projects, in Nassau County, with
contract amounts of at least $300,000.00 within the past three (3)
years. (2) The Contractor must provide documentation, with references,
showing that they have successfully completed (3) projects involving
retrofitting of existing buildings with pumping stations. (3) The
Contractor must provide documentation, with references, showing that
they have experience with shoring inside working facilities and have a
NY State licensed shoring contractor with a minimum of five (5) years
experience. (4) Contractor's business must reside within a one hundred
(100) mile radius of the project. Offerors will be evaluated in
accordance with the criteria stated above. Only those offerors who
receive a rating of 70% or better will receive a Request for Offer,
estimated to be issued on or about March 1, 2000. All responses to this
SIR must be received no later than February 10, 2000. 8A Firms should
