59 -- D-CELL BATTERIES FOR THE AN/PRC-149 AND C-CELL BATTERIES FOR THE AN/URT-140 SOL N00019-00-M-0009 DUE 020800 POC Contact, Melissa R. Blanton, 301-757-6984 Naval Air Systems Command intends to procure approximately 2,800 D-cell and 800 C-Cell batteries for use in the operation of the newly procured Survival Radio AN/PRC-149 and the Survival Beacon AN/URT-140. The quantities of the batteries reflect the number of units purchased on Contract Number N00019-98-C-0137 Option 3. It is anticipated that the total value will be at or below the Simplified Acquisition Procedure threshold. Battery cell types shall be safety certified for use in the AN/PRC-149 radio set and AN/URT-140 radio beacon set by Naval Ordnance Center (NOC) Indian Head MD. If not previously safety certified, testing shall be performed at contractors expense at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane IN (POC Mr. Bernard J. Hinkle). Certification will require submittal of a battery data package to NSWC Crane and at least 24 cells for each battery cell model to be tested.
