Estep, (303) 969-2370 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for
commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart
12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. The
National Park Service (NPS)intends to contract on a sole-source basis
with Blue Angel Technologies as their Enterprise Suite software is the
sole product of its' kind satisfying all of the agency's minimum
requirements. However, should additional sources be identified, they
will be considered. Solicitation S23600000019, a Request for Quote
(RFQ), incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through FAC 90-46,
SIC 7372, set-aside for small business. The proposed acquisition shall
provide the following architecture, standards, and features or
characteristics: (* indicate required requirements); ODBC compliant
(open database compatibility); *Multi-tiered Client-Server
Architecture, Z39.50 (v3)-compatible, Supports MARC, FGDC, and GILS
record formats, *Parallel searching of "foreign" (non-NPS) and "native"
(NPS) Z39.50 database via common search interface (i.e., NPS "local"
Z39.50 client software), with ability to deduplicate and merge result
sets;*Platform independence and demonstrated support of UNIX and
Windows NT servers (current and future NPS Operating System standards);
Data entry and search access is via Web browser; No Web access site
license required; License not based on number of users or records
served; Supports remote system administration; *All components of the
software are seamlessly integrated; Immediate updating of index tables
as new records are added; Ability to import and export records in
standard formats (bulk or individually); Databases may be unlimited in
size and may be partitioned across (platform-independent) servers;
Supports establishment of "mirro sites" (to better manage bandwidth
use); Supports "hot link" from catalog record to digital object (other
record in a database, a website, digital image, etc.);Can execute
external program applications needed to access/manipulate linked
resource; Includes "harvester" application which will pull in metadata
for NPS and non-NPS websites and make the sites searchable via Z39.50.
