The General Services Administration's (GSA) Office of Governmentwide Policy(OGP) writes Federal motor vehicle policy and assists Federal agencies implementing these polices. The Federal Fleet consists of approximately 565,000 vehicles with about 33,000 new vehicles purchased each year. OGP would like to identify parties interested in becoming the new manufacturer for the Federal government's license plates. The present manufacturer, DC's Lorton Prison Industries, is expected to cease operations NLT December 2001. The manufacturer would serve the needs of all Federal agencies, with the OGP as the central POC. Approximately 300,000 plates are produced annually by the current manufacturer. We are seeking a manufacturer who possesses or will develop an Internet ordering system with fax and email ordering capability; allows credit card purchases; has multiple delivery options; tiered pricing, customer service; and security features. All interested parties should express their desires with qualifications by January 31, 2000.
