COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 1,2000 PSA#2527SIMULATION, TRAINING, INSTRUMENTATION, THREATS AND TARGETS IDIQ The
U.S. Army Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation and Command
(STRICOM), a member of Team Orlando, www.stricom.army.mil/TEAM_ORLANDO,
is developing an acquisition strategy for the purpose of awarding
multiple Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts for
tasks which involve simulation, training, instrumentation, threats and
targets, beginning with concept development and continuing throughout
life cycle support. The objectives of this acquisition are to: 1)
facilitate the leveraging of programs and technology in the best
interest of the Department of Defense; 2) prepare the warfighter to
meet the challenges of the future battlespace; 3) emphasize effective
employment of new simulation technologies and dual use technologies,
and 4) support continued growth of the global synthetic environment, to
include Reserve forces and multinational partners. Throughout this
acquisition, the Government will host a series of conferences with
industry in order to gain assistance in the developmentof the
acquisition strategy. STRICOM will conduct the first conference on
Friday, 11 Feb 2000, at 8:00 a.m. The conference will be held at the
Radisson Hotel, University Orlando, 1724 Alafaya Trail, Orlando, FL,
32826. The purpose of the initial conference is to provide industry
with current details of this acquisition and to begin the process of
industry involvement in the development of the acquisition strategy.
Firms who are interested in attending the initial conference are
requested to register by sending an email to Mr. Kim D. Denver,

Attendance at the meeting is limited to three individuals from each
firm. Registration emails should identify the firm and the
representatives, by name and position, attending the conference.
