Z -- REPLACEMENT OF THREE ENTRANCE LIGHTS, CHOCTAWHATCHEE BAY AND PERDIDO PASS, FLORIDA SOL DTCG82-00-B-3WCA12 POC Judy Stamper, 305-278-6724 PRESOLICITATION NOTICE: The work includes furnishing all labor, tools, equipment and materials for fabrication and installation of three (3) offshore aid to navigation light structures. Additionally, the work includes the demolition and removal of the existing structures and/or debris existing around the new structure locations. The work is located at two distinct sites, approximately 55 nautical miles apart. Two of the three structures are to be installed at the entrance to Perdido Pass, located approximately 13 nautical miles west of Pensacola Bay (Perdido Pass Light 1 and 2). The third structure is to be installed at the entrance to Choctawhatchee Bay, located approximately 42 nautical miles each of Pensacola Bay (Choctawhatchee Bay Light 4). The structures to be demolished (and/or) debris to be removed are located in the vicinity of each of the new structure locations. All three sites are inaccessible by land. Since the structures are located in the shallow water areas of the Gulf of Mexico, the sites are subject to rough sea conditions making access difficult during days of strong winds. The typically strong currents and wakes from passing vessel traffic may make mooring and maneuvering difficult in the vicinity of the jetties where the new structures are to be built. The estimated price range is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Bid guarantee, payment and performance bonds are required. The estimated bid opening date is April 2000. This solicitation is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to large and small business participation.
