This building is approximately 6000 m2 and will accommodate two aircraft maintenance bays with supporting administration, shops and storage spaces. Construction features include steel structural and wall panels system and EPDM roof system for the bay areas. Administrative, shops and storage spaces will be masonry/brick construction with standing seam metal roof. Extensive HVAC equipment and controls are included for environmental control during painting operations. Other specialties include aircraft pavements, HEPA/paint filtering systems, hanger doors, AFFF fire protection, steam heat and cooling, CCTV, and site utility systems. The work will utilize a wide range of construction trades and skills, this includes but is not limited to the following: Labors, bricklayers, carpenters, cement workers, reinforcing workers, equipment operators, electricians, fire protection workers, glaziers, painters, plasters, plumbers, mechanical trades, sheet metal workers, truck drivers and welders. The drawings and specifications will be issued on CD-ROM at NO CHARGE on or about 22 February 2000. A "Best Value" request for proposal will be issued based upon 100% drawings and specifications which includes optional work items desired by the government (if adequate funds are available).
