The bidding contractor shall have at least five years experience in the size, scope and type of work outlined in the specifications and can show evidence of satisfactory completion of these projects. The fabricator and installer of the steel deck are required to qualify and meet welding standards set forth in the specifications. The roof is a standing seam roof and requires an experienced installer who has completed metal roof projects similar in material, design and the extent indicated in the specifications and must have a record of successful in-service performance and a minimum of five years of experience. Erection of the skylight system must have an installer who has been in the business of erecting similar materials for at least five years and can show evidence of satisfactory completion. The hangar will be occupied with C-130 production throughout the construction process, therefore one half of the roof, lighting, skylight, etc must be completed before moving on to the other half. There is 80,000 SF of interior asbestos deck removal, demolition of the exterior metal deck, installation of a welded structural steel deck, hat channels, rigid insulation and standing seam metal roof at 45' to 95' hangar heights. There is 16,500 SF of demolition and new installation of a skylight system on each side of the hangar. The solicitation and drawings for this project will be available on the Internet.
