MuellerEJ@navair.navy.mil. The Naval Air Systems Command intends to
commence studies for an alternate fuze supplier evaluation of the Joint
Programmable Fuze for future JSOW production requirements. As a result
of the current supplier ceasing production of the JSOW Joint
Programmable Fuze, this effort is to allow Raytheon, the JSOW prime
contractor, to conduct studies for the identification and qualification
of an alternate fuze supplier that will meet the JSOW Fuze Performance
Specification and the Interface Control requirements. Raytheon will
explore all avenues for acquiring a replacement for the Motorola fuze
originally developed from the Joint Programmable Fuze (FMU-152/B).
Companies interested in being considered for this requirement should
contact Mr. Bob Ripperdan of Raytheon at (520) 663-7286. This synopsis
is for informational purposes only. See Note 22 NAVAIR Synopsis No.
