Bates, Contracting Officer, (916) 353-4469 Removal of trees located under High Voltage Transmission Lines. The transmission line (CPT Jack-Olinda 500kV Line) runs through the Shasta-Trinity National Forest and the Modoc National Forest located near Redding, California. The trees to be removed are located in these national forests, therefore, removal shall be in accordance with US Forest Service Instructions. Tasks include removal of all trees over 12-feet tall on the 160-foot right-of-way from high voltage towers, chip all slash, scatter slash no higher than 8 inches; deck all logs over 5 inches in diameter at edge of access roads, cut stumps no higher than 8 inches, clear 50-foot radius around each tower for access, clear right-of-way roads to 16-foot width. Coordination will be made with Forest Service representatives prior to entrance into Forests. Firms must be licensed by the State of California for tree removal under high voltage power lines. Additional safety qualification requirements will apply. This acquisition will be advertised as full and open competition.
