The Naval Oceanographic Office intends to procure hydrophone array cable assemblies to be configured in accordance with Government generated statement of work to be provided with the copies of the solicitation. These cable assemblies shall serve as the primary physical support structure and electrical connection of hydrophones to an ocean buoy, and shall be deployed and recovered repeatedly at sea in all types of weather conditions. Assemblies shall include array cable,which can be 4 or 8 twisted pair, polyurethane(Input/Output P/N TLP4-108, TLP4-110 or TLP8-101), polychoroprene (Input/Output P/N 2SWF-4)or Government provided custom composite (South Bay Cable P/N SB-42152), in lengths from 0 -- 2000 ft, with splicing/molding of hydrophone waterproof connectors (Brantner Sea Con P/N AWL-3-FS/AWL-FLS-D on pigtails and Brantner Sea Con P/N AWQ-8/32-MP for top connector), and waterproofing array bottom. This procurement is being conducted on a competitive basis for commercial items utilizing simplified acquisition procedures under FAR Subpart 13.5. The anticipated indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type purchase order will be for a base year plus two (2) one-year option periods. Minimum order amount shall be an amount equal to 10% of the total value of each year's estimated quantities per each period. Estimated quantities are as follows: Array Cable -- Base Period -- 2800 ft (total); Option Period 1 -- 3900 ft (total); Option Period 2 -- 1800 ft (total)(type of array cable to be specified per each delivery order), Hydrophone Pigtail Splices/Moldings -- Base Period -- 30 ea; Option Period 1 -- 102 ea; Option Period 2 -- 48 ea (location and quantity per cable assembly to be specified per each delivery order); Hydrophone Array Top Connectors -- Base Period -- 5 ea; Option Period 1 -- 17 ea; Option Period 2 -- 8 ea. Delivery shall be required to be within 30 -- 60 days after receipt of delivery order, FOB destination, to the Naval Oceanographic Office, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Naval Oceanographic Office. The proposed solicitation will require the submission of a quotation to include prices and written technical proposals. Evaluation of quotations/proposals will be conducted using the greatest value approach. Requests for copies of Request for Quotations, N62306-00-Q-B005, which is anticipated to be issued on 04 Feb 2000, are to be in writing and be directed to the address shown above, to the attention of M.M.
