Cunningham, Contracting Officer, (414) 902-5407 The US Department of Veterans Affairs, Great Lakes Acquisition Center, is planning to negotiate a sole source contract with Boston Scientific for Angioplasty Balloons and related supplies for stocking a new medical cart. Items are required in time for a procedure scheduled for 2/14/00. This is considered to be a sole source because this is the only set of products on which the VA physician has been trained for the procedures for which these products will be used. These products have unique features such as Marshall catheters with a 5 fr balloon with rawhide material and a rated burst pressure of 12atm; XXL catheters all use a 5.8 fr shaft; wallstents are a self-expanding, reconstrainable device; Greenfield filters use 12 fr 316L medical grade stainless steel with an over the wire system.
