547-1641 ext. 548 (i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for
commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal
Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in the notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and
written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) This solicitation is
issued as Request for Quotation (RFQ) 21451-009. (iii) The solicitation
document and incorporated provisions are those in effect through
Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-15. (iv) This solicitation is
open to small and large businesses under Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) Code of 3429. Other forms referenced herein are
required to be completed and submitted with all quotations. (v) The
contractor shall provide unit price for the following: Various clothing
articles as indicated in section "vi". (vi) GENERAL: (Item
number/description / total quantity & unit of issue) [1] Tank,
wash/rinse combination, dual-chamber (each chamber 48 inch left to
right, 14 inch front to back, and 36 inch deep (liquid level),
stainless steel, 100 gallon minimum total volume, full welded
construction, sloped bottom for draining, single wall with 2 inch
thermal insulation, capable of providing heat necessary for ambient to
180 degrees Fahrenheit in 4 hours or less (minimum 9,000 Watts of heat
with stainless steel immersion elements), provide ultrasonic power at
a minimum of 30 Watts per gallon delivered, provide ultrasonic
frequency of 40 kHz +/- 5 kHz, provide stainless steel plumbing and
valves for fill line and drain line manual valve, provide 480 VAC, 30,
60 Hz from customer furnished fused circuit breaker, Low liquid level
protection, provided so the ultrasonics, pumps, and heaters will be
shut-off in the event: liquid level falls below a specific limit,
including particulate filtration system which provides a minimum of 10
micron filter capability with one-half horsepower pump, filtration
cartridge housed in a stainless steel enclosure, Variable intensity
ultrasonic power control (for reduction/increase of ultrasonic
intensity), Timer control( for presetting cleaning time), Seven day
programmable timer (for unmanned system control of heaters) 1 EA [2]
Oil removing weir and sparger, able to skim floating contamination from
wash tank surface and into overflow retaining reservoir, provide spigot
on reservoir to tap floating oils and bottom drain with manual valve,
provide stainless steel construction for reservoir tank, drains, and
valves, for use with item one [1] 1 EA [3] Parts basket, stainless
steel wire rod, load capacity not less than 300 pounds, to fit in
cleaning chamber, for use with item one [1] 1 EA [4] Lid, stainless
steel, lift-off in two sections, to cover individual chambers listed in
item [1] 1 SET. (vii) The contractor has 30 calendar days after date of
the award to deliver all material to the Federal Detention Center, 700
Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106. This is to be FOB: Destination.
(viii) FAR Provision 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial
Items (NOV 1999) and the following clauses incorporated by addendum
apply -- At paragraph (c), "Period of Acceptance of Offers," has been
determined by the Contracting Officer to be non-applicable to this
solicitation and is hereby removed in its entirety for the purpose of
this requirement.; At paragraph (e), "Multiple Offers," has been
determined by the Contracting Officer to be non-applicable to this
solicitation and is hereby removed in its entirety for the purposes of
this requirement; 52.204-6 Contractor Identification Number -- Data
Universal Numbering System (DUNS) Number (JUN 1999) (ix) The evaluation
will be based on price and price related factors. FAR Provision
