Pre-Solicitation Notice, Solicitation No. GS-01P-00-BZC-0002, Repair
and Alterations, at the J.W. McCormack, Post Office & Courthouse,
Boston, MA. Two Step Sealed Procurement. Step One involves technical
qualifications only. (Past Performance, Key Personnel Resumes, and
Management Plan). (Technical Proposals shall not include prices or
pricing information). Step Two is eligible only to those qualified
under step one. Solicitation Issue Date for Technical Proposals (Step
One) is on or about March 1, 2000. Technical Proposals Due (Step One)
on or about March 31, 2000. Construction start date is anticipated to
be July 17, 2000. The project is summarized but is not limited to major
and minor renovations to the existing Federal Post Office and
Courthouse on Congress Street in Boston, MA for office, courtroom and
detention space use by the Boston Municipal Courts. Work includes
selective demolition, hazardous materials mitigation, partitions,
ceilings, flooring, finishes, and modification upgrade of new and
existing HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler, electrical power and lighting and
telephone data and security systems. Work includes the restoration to
its original condition, any work damaged or destroyed by the
contractor. Work also includes providing all required temporary
construction and facilities, and prompt removal of these temporary
items when no longer required for the project. All temporary facilities
shall be subject to the approval of the government and the architect.
They shall be located and constructed so as to avoid all interference
with the government_s regular use of the building and site for its
intended purpose. Temporary facilities and construction shall be kept
in orderly and sound condition at all times. Heating and cooling within
the normal range of building must be maintained at all times. The
estimated cost range for this project is between $5,000,000 and
$10,000,000 dollars. The applicable SIC Code is 1542. This procurement
is opened to both large and small business concerns. Requests for the
