DACA45-00-B-0005: On or about 15 February 2000, this office will issue
Invitation for Bids for the construction of FITZSIMONS U.S. ARMY
RESERVE CENTER COMPLEX, P.N. 52132, AURORA, COLORADO. Bids will be
opened on or about 16 March 2000. SOLICITATION OF BIDS WILL BE
RESTRICTED TO REGION VIII, 8(a)CONTRACTORS THAT QUALIFY UNDER THE 8(a)
SET-ASIDE PROGRAM. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of
the proposed work should contact the Denver Resident Engineer, U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers, Stop 53, Buckley ANG Base, Aurora, CO
80011-9599, Telephone: (303) 367-0335 or Fax: (303) 367-0357. DO NOT
submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit
personnel listed above. See "Ordering" below. The work will include the
following: (Approx. quantities) Building Work. Space renovation and new
HVAC for Building 262 -- Administration Building, Building 288 --
Maintenance Building, Building 289 -- Warehouse Building and Building
290 -- Central Energy Plant. Work includes: miscellaneous removals;
various finishes (gypsum board, floor tile, wall tile, suspended
acoustical ceilings, resilient flooring, carpet and painting);
Equipment (Projection Screens -- Manually Operated); Plastic Laminate
Faced Casework; Mechanical plumbing, piping, sprinkler systems, HVAC,
Fire tube boilers, Chemical Water Treatment, Air Handling Units and
Direct Digital Controls for HVAC); Electrical wiring and lighting and
modifications to existing fire alarm system. In Building 288, the
shower/locker areas will be upgraded as well as providing a new
physical fitness area. Building 290 includes a new Assembly Hall,
Kitchen, three new Classrooms and Training Support areas. Site Work
includes: Two asphalt parking lots with concrete curb and gutter near
Bldg. 290 (58 stalls and 34 stalls respectively with exterior
lighting); Military Equipment Park (Asphalt parking lot w concrete curb
and gutter (104 parking stalls), exterior lighting, 830 lineal feet of
chain-link fence, vehicle wash platform, oil/water separator and
detention area), 110 lineal feet storm sewer and landscaping (new and
relocated trees and shrubs and seeding of disturbed areas). The
estimated construction cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and
$2,500,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this
contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10
days after notice to proceed and complete the work within 240 calendar
days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included
for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the
time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. The plans
and specifications are available on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be
provided free of charge. It has been determined that the number of
Compact Disks be limited to one (1) per firm. Plans and Specifications
will not be provided in a printed hard copy format. Contractors may
view and/or download this project from the Internet at the following

register on the Omaha District website, go to the "Solicitation
Registration" section of the synopsis and click on the link for
"Registering". If you do not have Internet access, then you may fax

process, causing a delay in receiving Solicitation documents. Please
