pfender_j@crane.navy.mil. Crane Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center
(NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane) is conducting Market Research to determine
the availability of all applicable non-developmental, blank firing
training device that will function in the 40mm Advanced Lightweight
Grenade Launcher (ALGL) and 40mm MK19 MOD 3 Grenade Machinegun. The
training device must provide realist training for users in a field
environment. The device must include blank ammunition and must meet the
following requirements: (1) The device consist of a blank firing
adapter and must use expendable full caliber 40mm linked, blank
ammunition that functions (fires the weapon). The blank ammunition
shall be packaged in PA120 cans to provide for realistic weapon
loading. When the device is fitted to the ALGL, the ALGL shall fire the
blank cartridges and cycle the weapon. (2) The device and blank
ammunition will allow for immediate "out of the box" use and shall not
require operators to load sub-caliber cartridges or link ammunition
prior to charging the weapon. When fitted to the ALGL, the device will
allow users to immediately load cartridges in the same manner that
actual war-fighting ammunition is loaded. (3) The device shall
incorporate safety features that will physically preclude the
chambering of a live-40mm round into the chamber when the blank firing
adapter is attached to the ALGL. (4) The device shall preclude the
ejection of fragments from the barrel and shall have a safety distance
that does not exceed 5-feet (measured from weapon's flash suppressor).
(5) One operator shall be able to assemble the blank firing adapter to
the ALGL with winter gloves in less than two minutes. (6) It is
desired that the system will allow for full function with the MK19 MOD
3 Grenade Machinegun with a separate blank firing adapter for the MK19
MOD 3 Grenade Machinegun. Your proposal should include evidence that
the system is a current NDI product and should also include video
footage of the system in operation. Any proposals should also include
any candidate firmsPast Performance History of providing volume
training or ammunition cartridges. Provide the POC below with product
