Jones & Associates, Inc., Normangee, Texas, for the purchase of one (1) Geonics PROTEM Time Domain Electromagnetic (TDEM) Induction System to include the following components: one (1) PROTEM receiver, cable reference, 30-channel single component; one (1) TEM47, low power, ultra-fast transmitter; one (1) high frequency receiver coil (with preamp); one (1) 5 x 5M, 8 turn transmitter coil; and one (1) 100 x 100M, transmitter loop with winder and reel. Minimum selection criteria include: lightweight, battery powered transmitter, variable transmitter loop size options (5 m to 100 m ), rapid turn-off time (2.5 microseconds or less), and variable operating base frequencies, system receiver must have on-board data logging capability with RS-232 output to a computer, receiver must sample the transient signal with 20 to 30 time channels covering two to three time decades, receiver must have the option of making one- to three-component measurements, transmitter and receiver must have direct cable synchronization, the system must be thoroughly documented in manufacturer's and peer reviewed literature, the system should be compatible with existing ERDC computer interpretation software. These items are the only systems of their type commercially available that meet or exceed the minimum selection criteria and the procurement of all systems are critical to the Corps of Engineers' Geotechnical Laboratory (Earthquake Engineering and Geosciences Division) Research and Development Program. A firm fixed-price contract will be awarded utilizing the Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
