This is a requirement for the replacement and long term support of the L424/L304 Mission Computer installed on the E2C aircraft. The effort will consist of the removal of current mission computer and replacing it with a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS)/Non-Developmental Unit (NDI) which will fit into the existing I/O buffer cabinet of the L424/L304 without making any aircraft modifications. The new unit will utilize proven technology which can run the current Operational Flight Program (OFP) without revision to existing software. The nomenclature/NIIN's of the affected components are the Electrical Cabinet/01-113-4367, Computer Control/01-371-3977, Digital Data Recorder/Reproducer/01-351-8722, Memory Display/00-882-3098, Enhanced High Speed Processor/01-412-0558, 16K Memory Assembly/01-177-9569, Power Supply/00-403-1438, Converter Control/00-632-0901, Core Memory Unit/00-469-3138, Arithmetic Control/00-449-1823, Arithmetic Control/00-449-1828, Computer Control/01-375-9999, Power Supply/00-845-5239, Power Supply Memory/01-172-8870,Signal Data Converter/01-447-9627, Navigation Converter/00-882-4554, Signal Data Converter/01-408-6551, and Converter Assembly/01-096-5291. The requirement will be for 42 each units which will be retrofitted into E2C aircraft upon delivery.A long term multi-year warranty wi ll be required. Delivery within approximately 12 months of award is anticipated, with an initial demonstration of technology within approximately three months of contract award.
