Function: this sleeve allows the RCVV Variable vanes to rotate on axis Material Composition: AMS 5627 SST & woven fiberglass; polytetrafluoroethylene fabric impregnated w/Polyimide Resin Proper bonding of the liner is essential to the operation of the part. This is a durability critical part and is used on the acft. primary propulsion system, Pratt & Whitney F100 engine model series. Failure can result in secondary damage to the engine & subsequent mission abort. Special mfg. processes are required. Approved sources: United Tech Corp,W.Palm Beach,FL (52661),Pratt & Whitney Acft (077445). The govt is not required to delay contract award to review pending a Source Approval Request (SAR). Therefore, offerors are encouraged to submit SARs ASAP. If govt. has not completed review of SAR when contract is awarded, the SAR will be retained and source will be reviewed for possible approval for future awards.
