USAID/SOUTH AFRICA AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER in Pretoria, is seeking proposals from qualified organizations for the following Request for Proposal(RFP) No. 674-00-P-003, to provide a central repository and clearinghouse for youth employment and entrepreneurship information and materials. The contract is intended to support the ongoing program of the National Youth Commission (NYC) of South Africa to promote development of South African youth. Accordingly, in carrying out the contract the Contractor shall develop substantial contact and working relationships with the NYC. This activity is funded under USAID's Support to Tertiary Education Project's (STEP) Bilateral Agreement with the Government of the Republic of South Africa. The organization, which shall serve as the contractor, is required to enter into a contract with USAID/South Africa. This process shall be in consultation with the NYC. In addition to furthering the objectives of the NYC, the activity shall also contribute to the achievement of the USAID/South Africa's Education Strategic Objective through support for the implementation of the National Youth Policy. The RFP will be issued o/a February 14, 2000. Deadline for receipt of proposals at USAID/South Africa offices will be March 17, 2000 at 2:00 pm Pretoria Time.
