59 -- M439 FUZE SYSTEM LEVEL TESTING AND PRIMARY STANDARD TEST SET SOL n/a DUE 022100 POC Mary Lou Desseaux, Contract Specialist, 973-724-3217 WEB: US ARMY TACOM-ARDEC Procurement Network, http://procnet.pica.army.mil/cbd/SRCSgt/020420000/020420000.htm. E-MAIL: Mary Lou Desseaux, mdess@pica.army.mil. The U.S. Government is seeking to fabricate a Primary Standard Test Set for Calibration of various test sets related to the 2.75 Inch Rocket remote set rocket fuzing. This Primary Standard Test Set (PSTS) will interface with the existing Ballistic Firing Test Sets (BFTS) and laboratory fuze test sets to make sure they all work within the calibration limits. The calibration scheme and the design of the PSTS will be determined by the contractor. The contractor will also be responsible for designing the interfaces to the test sets and testing them to verify the calibration procedure. The U.S. government also seeks to conduct M439 fuze electronic module and complete fuze tests to qualify an Integrated Circuit (IC) component for the M439 fuze. The M439 fuze is a remote set time fuze for the cargo warheads of the 2.75 Inch rocket system. These timing and First Article Tests (FAT) of the M439 fuze will be done according to the M439 fuze specification MIL-F-48877. The contractor will be responsible for the IC;electronic modules and the M439 fuzes that will be required to pass the government conducted ballistic testing. A final report and a drawing package of the PSTS and the modified M439 fuze will also be required. There is also an option for fabrication of Apache helicopter based Ballistic Firing Test Set (ABFTS). This test set will use the Apache helicopter based Rocket Management System called the Pylon Interface Unit (PIU) for ground firing of 2.75 inch rockets. This test set will be compatible with the current cabling system in the field. The building of ABFTS will require the ability to build the PIU electronic boxes into a field configured system.
