The Bureau of Reclamation intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Kinemetrics to acquire acclerographs and accelerometers which must be compatible with the existing Kinemetrics equipment on site. The Bureau of Reclamation intends to award for the period of 1 base year and 3 option years. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The Government believes that only one responsible source can provide the supplies/services that will satisfy the agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. Firms that believe they can provide the required items/services described above are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Firms believing they can provide similar required items/servicesmust provide supporting evidence that they can furnish the supplies identified above in sufficient detail to demonstrate the respondent's ability to meet the stated requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. All responses received within 5 days of the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
