NASA/DFRC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for McDonnell Douglas DC-8, Model 72, Tail No. 817, "C" CHECK (1-5 YEAR) AND CORROSION PREVENTION AND CONTROL PROGRAM (3 YEAR). NASA/DFRC intends to limit competition to the following four (4EA) companies: 1) Associated Air Center/Dallas, Texas, 2) Dee Howard/San Antonio, Texas, 3) Tennessee Technical Services/Smyrna, Tenneesee, and 4) TIMCO-GSO/Greensboro, North Carolina. This action is made pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only One or a Limted Number of Responsible Sources. The Government intends to acquire a commercial service using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on February 11, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
