USDA Forest Service, Southwestern and Eastern Regions intend to contract for Contractor-owned, Contractor/Government-operated Type III (Light) Helicopter services for wildland firefighting initial attack and support missions. Contractor shall provide helicopter, pilot(s), except when Government pilot may be provided, mechanic, service-truck and driver for transporting personnel, fuel, and cargo for Forest Operations, involving low level missions in mountainous terrain on hot days with internal and external loads. Helicopter will also be used for helirappelling. During performance periods (between March 10 and August 20) helicopters will be for exclusive use of the Government. Helicopters will be based at Forest Service bases in Arizona and Kentucky. Term of contract will be base period with two option periods. This solicitation is set-aside for small business.
