Engineers, Norfolk District is conducting a market survey to identify
sources and increase competition acquisition opportunities for Offshore
Breakwaters, Fort Story, VA with small business contractors. The
project consists of constructing a stone breakwater system to provide
protection for approximately 5,500 linear feet of shoreline at Fort
Story, VA. The eight (8) stone breakwaters are conceptually designed
with a 250 foot length and a gap spacing of 350 feet using a 4-ton
uniform stone. The work will involve some sand replenishment which will
call for dredging or trucking or both. The dollar range of this project
is estimated between $5,000,000.00 and $7,000,000.00. The estimated
solicitation date is July 2000. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside
and to be considered a firm must be considered a small business under
SIC Code 1629, with average annual receipts less than $17,000,000.00
last three fiscal years. The firms must be bondable up to
$7,000,000.00. This request is only a market survey not a request to be
