E-MAIL: Michael T. Stubbs, M.T.STUBBS@larc.nasa.gov. NASA/LaRC plans to issue a IFB for Services and Materials for Street Repairs, West Area, LaRC, Hampton, VA. The work includes furnishing all contractor's plant, tools, equipment, services and materials, and performing all operations necessary for or incidental to a complete project. For East Durand, West Durand, East Reid Streets, and Langley Boulevard, this work includes, but is not limited to removing existing asphalt down to concrete pavement by milling; rake-out, clean and seal all longitudinal and transverse joints in the concrete pavement; furnish and install a nonwoven polypropylene fabric over joints; apply tack coat; apply new 2-inch thick (after compaction) asphalt overlay and provide pavement striping and marking as specified. For West Reid, Victory and South Warner Streets, this work includes, but is not limited to removing existing asphalt by saw-cutting over longitudinal and transverse joints in the concrete pavement base; rake-out, clean and seal joints, furnish and install a nonwoven polypropylene fabric over joints; apply tack coat; apply new asphalt overlay (thickness to match existing) and re-stripe directional lines and other pavement markings affected by the joint repairs. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $250,000 to $500,000 and the effort shall be completed within 180 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1611 and $17.0M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about February 22, 2000 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about March 23, 2000.
