Under the upcoming solicitation, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations having in-house capabilities to conduct compound screening in the rat self-administration test for assessment as potential pharmacotherapies for cocaine dependence. Proprietary compounds will be evaluated in established protocols, and the resulting data will be utilized by the Cocaine Treatment Discovery Program of the NIDA Division of Treatment Research and Development. Offerors must submit, at the time of application, documentation of a current DEA registration for Schedule II -- V controlled substances and apply for Schedule I registration at the time of award. NIDA anticipates awarding a five year combination completion/term-type contract with optional quantities.
