Under the upcoming solicitation, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations having in-house capabilities to conduct compound screening in the rat self-administration test for assessment as potential pharmacotherapies for cocaine dependence. Proprietary compounds will be evaluated in established protocols, and the resulting data will be utilized by the Cocaine Treatment Discovery Program of the NIDA Division of Treatment Research and Development. Offerors must submit, at the time of application, documentation of a current DEA registration for Schedule II -- V controlled substances and apply for Schedule I registration at the time of award. RFP No. N01DA-0-8806 will be available electronically on or about March 13, 2000, and may be accessed through the Internet at the following address: (URL: http://www.nida.nih.gov/RFP/RFPList.html). NIDA anticipates awarding a five year combination completion/term-type contract with optional quantities. Please note that the RFP for this acquisition will be streamlined to include only the Work Statement, Deliverables and Reporting Requirements, Special Requirements and Mandatory Qualifications, Technical Evaluation Criteria, and other necessary Proposal Preparation Instructions. All information required for submission of an offer will be contained in or accessible through the electronic RFP package. Following proposal submission and the initial review process, offerors comprising the competitive range may be requested to provide additional documentation to the Contracting Officer. Response to the RFP will be due on or about April 27, 2000. Any responsible offeror may submit a proposal which will be considered by the Government.
